about the topic itself

Nate, Alec and Richard,

I've found some stuff about alternative energy systems as I think it is the main idea of the energy fellowship. Here are some links to websites on this topic:

http://www.aesc-inc.com/
http://www.suntrekenergy.com/
http://www.climatesolutions.org/

We can really put a lot of stuff on our website if we do some research work. I guess it's not going to be easy, but it's a really worth thing to do.

I also went to a lunch meeting today with some staff [not too many students today though] on the subject of 'Energy Fellowship' and the group at the school which has called themselves "Earth Support" for many years.

Their ideas were about supplying some very local information, too - for instance:
*where items be properly recycled locally
*lists of towns and their recycle and energy policies
*local resources for products, such as efficient light bulbs, etc.

They were very excited about a forum and I think Alec's idea of getting the forum going to help get more ideas about the worthiness and directions for carrying the project forward seem worth going on right away.

A couple of the websites you cite look to be companies trying to work on very big good ideas and bringing them to the market.

I think the Energy Fellowship is additionally about the very big and the very small at the same time - global issues of climate change - as well as some practical things we can do in our small lives, larger family and school lives, and hopefully doing the small with realization of the bigger picture leads to the best results.

There is a connection with throwing away a soda can and the piling cost to the world of making each new aluminum can. It is very hard, however to sort out what is important without good information.

Richard.
